Trump: Naval blockade on Iran remains in full force
United States President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the US Navy will continue its blockade of Iran until a deal with Tehran is "100% completed."
"The naval blockade will remain in full force and effect as it pertains to Iran, only, until such time as our transaction with Iran is 100% complete," the Republican president wrote on Truth Social.
Earlier, Tehran announced the opening of the vital waterway, which has been effectively closed since the start of the war causing chaos in global oil markets, after a ceasefire was struck between Israel and Lebanon.

Oil slumps 10% as Iran declares Hormuz open
Crude oil prices nosedived on Friday after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared the Strait of Hormuz "completely open" for commercial shipsfor the remaining period of the 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
Supply concerns seemed to lessen amid hopes about the chances of a lasting US-Iran ceasefire. The conflict that triggered a major supply shock, with Iranian restrictions and a US naval blockade keeping flows through Hormuz almost at a standstill, neared 50 days.
West Texas Intermediate for deliveries in May slumped by 11.05% to $84.23 per barrel at 9:09 am ET, while Brent for settlements in June plunged by 10.55% and sold for $88.9 a barrel.

Iran reopens Hormuz to commercial vessels
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on Friday the reopening of the Hormuz Strait to commercial vessels following a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
"In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire, on the coordinated route as already announced by Ports and Maritime Organisation of the Islamic Rep. of Iran," Araghchi said.
Previously, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the recent ceasefire agreement, while US President Donald Trump declared that the war in Iran should end pretty soon.
