Pahlavi says he will meet German lawmakers at Bundestag

 

Iran’s exiled prince Reza Pahlavi said on Wednesday that he had arrived in Berlin to ensure the voices of Iranians fighting for their liberation are heard, ahead of meetings with German lawmakers, media and members of the Iranian diaspora.

“As Iranians continue to fight for their liberation, I have arrived in Berlin to ensure their voices are heard,” Pahlavi said in a post on X.

“Tomorrow I will meet at the Bundestag with elected officials across the German political spectrum, speak to members of the press, and meet with the Iranian diaspora,” he added.

Iran state TV says no official response yet to Trump ceasefire claim

 

Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB said on Wednesday rejected reports that Tehran had agreed to a ceasefire extension announced by US President Donald Trump’ a day earlier.

“Iran has not yet announced an official position on Trump’s claim about extending the ceasefire,” IRIB said on Wednesday.

“Rumors about Iran’s formal agreement are not accurate, and no statement has been issued by Iranian officials,” it added.

Bessent says $14 billion Iran sanctions relief claim is ‘a myth’

 

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Wednesday that claims Iran could gain $14 billion from temporary US sanctions relief are “a myth,” defending Washington’s decision to allow some Iranian oil already at sea to reach markets.

Bessent said the Treasury was able to unlock more than 250 million barrels “on the water” through sanctions relief and argued oil prices would have been higher without the move.

Iran lawmaker says nuclear issue should not have been raised in Pakistan talks

 

Iranian lawmaker Mahmoud Nabavian said on Wednesday that Iran made a strategic mistake by allowing the nuclear issue to be discussed in talks in Pakistan, saying it emboldened the United States to make further demands.

“In the Pakistan negotiations, we made a strategic mistake. We should not have put the nuclear issue up for negotiation,” Nabavian, a member of parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, told state-affiliated SNN.

“By doing so, the enemy became bolder,” he added.

Nabavian said the United States demanded that Iran’s 60% enriched material be removed and blocked for 20 years, demands he said Tehran did not accept.

Greece confirms its cargo ship was attacked in Hormuz

 Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Gerapetritis (pictured) told CNN on Wednesday that a Greek-owned cargo ship was attacked near the Strait of Hormuz, adding that it is "unclear" if it was seized by the Iranian forces.

"It was a Liberian-flagged and Greek-owned ship, it was trying to get out of the Strait of Hormuz," Gerapetritis said. "We have sent an overall notice to all Greek-owned ships to be very mindful, to exercise maximum self-restraint and to avoid crossing the strait," he added.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) previously announced that three ships were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, with one of them being the Greek-flagged Epaminondas, which sustained "heavy damage" to the bridge. Meanwhile, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy forces reported enforcing "maritime law" on a container ship after the vessel allegedly "ignored repeated warning."

 The FDA has approved a supplemental biologic license application (sBLA) for teplizumab-mzwv (Tzield, Sanofi), expanding its approved age range from 8 years and older down to as young as 1 year of age to delay the onset of stage 3 type 1 diabetes (T1D) in patients diagnosed with stage 2 T1D. The approval was granted under priority review and makes teplizumab the first disease-modifying therapy available for children in this younger age group.

Anthropic’s Mythos Model Is Being Accessed by Unauthorized Users

 

A small group of unauthorized users have accessed Anthropic PBC’s new Mythos AI model, a technology that the company says is so powerful it can enable dangerous cyberattacks, according to a person familiar with the matter and documentation viewed by Bloomberg News.

A handful of users in a private online forum gained access to Mythos on the same day that Anthropic first announced a plan to release the model to a limited number of companies for testing purposes, said the person, who asked not to be named for fear of reprisal. The group has been using Mythos regularly since then, though not for cybersecurity purposes, said the person, who corroborated the account with screenshots and a live demonstration of the model.
