Our campuses are corrupt — and higher education is due for its comeuppance

One industry in America pumps out toxic waste day and night, but suffers no penalty for the damage it causes.

It operates at enormous public and private expense, sucking up hundreds of billions of dollars in government money.

Its toxic bilge poisons much of society, but those who complain about it are often dismissed as ignorant or bigoted.

Its product is largely free of state and federal regulation.

That industry is higher education.

And the toxic waste it emits isn’t chemical but intellectual sludge, in the form of racial bigotry, antisemitism and crude Marxism.

“It’s amazing,” constitutional scholar Ilya Shapiro said a few days ago in testimony to a committee of the US Commission for Civil Rights: “The heart of antisemitism in America lies on campus, among the most educated and progressive people in the country.”

This isn’t the workplace bias and schoolyard name-calling that once marked antisemitism in this country — it’s now reached the performance stage

Like the recent incident in which antisemitic Cornell student Austin Franco rejected a job offer from a Jewish-owned startup with the hateful message “Not interested in working for a Jew” — then raised more than $20,000 from equally antisemitic goons on a crowdfunding site.

Franco attends the same campus where antisemitic students this semester trapped the university’s president in his car, holding him hostage after he hosted a civil debate over Israel.

Violence, threats and taunts have hit Jewish students on campuses across the country, from Columbia and Yale on the East Coast to UCLA on the West.

Why have universities been so limp-wristed in addressing this unvarnished hatred?

One reason is money:  Arab sheikdom Qatar has pumped tens of billions of dollars into US universities in recent years — and in the academy, money talks.

But another reason is that our universities have been the Petri dish in which this nasty ideology is cultured.

Law schools and humanities departments have embraced Critical Race Theory, which views everything through the lens of oppressor versus oppressed.

No crime, however vile, is treated as beyond the pale if those committing it are classified as “oppressed.”

Meanwhile, those seen as “oppressors” can do nothing right:  Their very existence is an offense.

This worldview got a double shot of espresso during the 2020 George Floyd hysteria.

And it’s informed campus thinking — and by extension, all of leftist culture — with a bigoted, frankly racial perspective on everything.

Jews are coded as oppressors — even though Israel was founded as a refuge for victims of the Holocaust — and that justifies rape, torture and murder by “oppressed” Palestinians.

The sickness isn’t limited to race: Academic feminism has divided the sexes and introduced poisonous views of masculinity and femininity as “progressive,” when they’re really just prejudice and hate.

The poison has spread from universities into government and the corporate world through the insidious mechanism of federally enforced “anti-discrimination” rules.

Meanwhile, schools of education turn out teachers who are literally more interested in indoctrinating students in social justice than in teaching them how to read or do math.

Specious academic theories of education have turned out to be far less successful at actually educating children than old-fashioned methods like phonics and drills.

Worse yet, academia has instilled in its graduates an undeserved sense of superiority simply because they attended college.

Yet plenty of smart people don’t have a college degree — and plenty of college graduates didn’t learn much.

Test results confirm that:  A major study of 2,300 students not long ago reported that 36% of them showed no improved learning after four years of college.

And much of what students learn isn’t so.

For example Marxism, which has never worked in the real world, remains stylish on campuses — still treated as a hot new concept, though it hasn’t changed much in over a century.

Racism, sexism, antisemitism and destructive economic ignorance, all from a huge and vastly expensive system that was supposed to make our society better.

It’s time for a change.

In this country, we don’t (or at least we’re not supposed to) censor people’s views, however noxious and, frankly, evil they might be.

But as more Americans recoil from higher education’s foul products, taxpayers, legislators and parents will increasingly wonder why they’re supporting it.

No wonder Congress is considering multiple bills to defund colleges and universities that are being undermined by big bucks from adversaries like Qatar and communist China — and no wonder the Trump Justice Department is suing schools like UCLA that let antisemitic violence and discrimination fester.

About time, too: No other industry this toxic would have gotten away with its pollution for this long.

Fed Governor Bowman Spoke at Private Dinner After Policy Meeting

Michelle Bowman, the Federal Reserve’s vice chair for supervision, spoke at a private dinner in New York hours after attending the central bank’s policy meeting, the Wall Street Journal reported, a period when officials are restricted from commenting on monetary policy.

The event in New York was hosted by Bank of America on the same day the Federal Open Market Committee concluded their policy meeting under new Chairman Kevin Warsh, the newspaper said. Policy makers met on June 16 and 17 where they left interest rates unchanged in a range of 3.5% to 3.75% but signaled growing support for rate hikes this year.

FBI Warns That Fake FIFA Website Being Used to Steal Personal Info

by Jack Phillips via The Epoch Times,

The FBI on June 16 advised people to be wary of fraudulent websites that try to mimic World Cup or FIFA sites, as the agency warned that such websites have been used to steal personal information and sell counterfeit tickets.

In a public service announcement, the FBI stated that scammers and fraudsters have launched spoofing attempts designed to mimic FIFA’s official website as the World Cup games hosted in North America continue.

“Threat actors often create spoofed websites by slightly altering characteristics of legitimate website domains, with the purpose of gathering personally identifiable information entered by a user into the site, including name, home address, phone number, email address, and banking information,” the FBI statement reads.

The individuals behind such websites may be attempting to trick people into entering sensitive information that could be used to “create new accounts in a victim’s name and ultimately defraud the victim,” the FBI stated.

The federal law enforcement bureau noted that it has identified individuals who had attempted to collect personal information, sell counterfeit World Cup tickets or “hospitality products,” or engaged in other forms of malicious activity in connection with the scams.

The fraudulent website domains could include alternate spellings of words or use a different top-level domain, or TLD, referring to the final segment of the web address, such as .com, .gov, .org, and more, according to the notice.

Scammers may also create a deceptive version of a legitimate website, such as fifa.com, that tricks people into thinking they are going to the official website, it stated. Some include website domains that use alternate domain extensions such as “.blue,” “.beer,” “.city,” and more. Dozens of fraudulent domains were identified by the FBI that have been linked to the scheme, including fake domains related to FIFA jobs, merchandise, or tickets.

FBI officials advised people to first verify website URLs before they enter potentially sensitive or personally identifying information and to go to FIFA’s official website by typing the URL into their browser rather than relying on results produced by search engines, while also verifying that it reads fifa.com.

An Epoch Times review found that many of the websites listed by the FBI in the alert appeared to be down. However, the FBI stated that the “public should be aware that new websites will continue to appear.”

“Exercise caution when clicking on advertisements. Before clicking on an advertisement, check the URL to make sure the site is authentic,” the notice reads. “Malicious advertisements may redirect users to a different website than indicated.”

The June 16 public service announcement did not say whether anyone was victimized by a FIFA website-related scam. But victims who believe that they were targeted in a scam should file a complaint with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov, it states

Aside from combating fake websites, the FBI has also acted to keep drones away from World Cup games. Earlier this week, an illegal immigrant with a prior criminal history, including a cocaine-trafficking conviction, was arrested for flying a drone near a World Cup event in Atlanta, the FBI announced.

The World Cup lasts from June 11 until July 19, with matches being played across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Anti-Israel, pro-Iran prof back at CUNY classrooms after arrest for leading violent campus protests

Her hate is on the taxpayer’s dime.

United States- and Israel-hating Corinna Mullin — a political science professor so radical she was arrested for leading violent campus protests — is teaching two classes at the City University of New York in the fall, The Post has learned.

Mullin, who professed her love for Iran’s bloodthirsty Islamic Republic Guard Corps during an unhinged Democratic Socialists of America talk earlier this month, is teaching “Politics of the Middle East” at Brooklyn College next semester. She’ll lecture about the Arab states, Israel, Iran and Turkey, according to the course description in CUNY’s online class schedule.

Mullin is teaching two classes at CUNY in the fall, the first time since she was fired in 2025 and later rehired.YouTube / Critical Theory Workshop

She’s also slated to teach “Government and Politics in the Middle East and North Africa” at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she’ll talk about the Arab-Israeli conflict, political Islam, political Judaism, petro-politics and US foreign policy in the region.

Putting her back on the class schedule is “outrageous and unacceptable,” fumed CUNY law professor and business department chair Jeffrey Lax.

“This is not academic freedom — it is taxpayer-funded indoctrination,” he said.

“Mullin’s extreme anti-Israel, anti-American views, framed through an anticolonial lens that often justifies terrorism and hostility toward the West, make her fundamentally unfit to shape young minds on the sensitive subject of Middle East politics,” he added.

CUNY students also warned bringing Mullin back in the classroom was wrong.

“Mullin’s statements are absurd and detached from reality,” slammed Aidan Herzlinger, a senior at Baruch College.

“The IRGC isn’t fighting for the ‘working class.’ Their goal since 1979 is the destruction of the United States and Israel because the regime’s ideology is anti-western and anti-democracy. Having professors like Mullin on campus creates a system of indoctrination, not education.”

Mullin was fired by CUNY in the summer of 2025 after eight years on the job, for organizing and taking part in an April 2024 pro-Palestinian encampment at the City College of New York’s campus in Harlem where a student fired a flare that sparked a blaze in the science building and resulted in $3 million in damage, according to school officials

But she fought the decision, helped by her union, and was reinstated in January, though her name didn’t appear on CUNY faculty pages or course schedules until recently.

She’s set to make at least $34,304 for the 2025-2026 school year, according to a copy of the union’s salary grid for adjunct professors obtained by The Post.

In 2025, Mullin, 51, made $24,232 for the spring semester before she was fired that summer. And in 2024 — the year of her arrest — she pocketed $43,500, according to public records on See Through New York.

The anti-West prof also teaches at The New School, where she’ll be lecturing on “Decolonizing International Law” next fall. Her salary at the private college is undisclosed.

Mullin was all smiles at a recent DSA meeting where she professed her love for the bloodthirsty IRGC.Obtained by the New York Post

Earlier this month, Mullin clamored to bring down the US empire “by any means necessary” while speaking to more than two-dozen NYC DSA comrades during an “Islamic Revolution Teach In.”

“A state like Iran needs to divert a significant portion of its surplus into military industrialization. . . . So, I’m sorry, I defend the IRGC,” she tearfully proclaimed. “I defend the incredible role the Iranian state has done to defend the working class.

“This is having a huge toll on the capacity of the US empire to impose its will. . . . We need to bring the empire down by any means necessary,” she raged.

In March, at a CUNY Cuba conference in Midtown that devolved into an anti-US hatefest, she was among speakers deriding the “evil empire” as the “number one terrorist in the world” — urging people to “speed up” its demise “in every way possible.”

“The threat is the US empire itself,” she proclaimed.

Mullin also regularly spews anti-Israel hate. Last year, she was filmed chanting “up, up, up with freedom, down, down, down with Zionist scum,” during a protest in Midtown where she also yelled at Jewish counterprotesters to “just leave!” She’s called Arab countries normalizing ties with Israel “high treason.”

Mullin will be back at John Jay College in the fall to teach Government and Politics in the Middle East and North Africa.Helayne Seidman for the NY Post

She’s worked with the Samidoun network, a sham charity that acts as a proxy for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine — a designated terrorist organization, according to the State Department.

Some of her students have denounced her extreme views on professor review websites.

“Radical who should not be within 100 feet of any classroom,” wrote one student on Rate My Professors, where she got an overall grade of 3.8 on a scale of 1 to 5.

“Little knowledge in her rants,” lambasted another. “Talks tons very little knowledge.”

Mullin and CUNY did not return The Post’s request for comment.

'Iran says it arrests 480 in northwest over alleged Israel and US links'

Iranian authorities arrested 480 people in the northwest of the country over alleged links to Israel and the US following their attacks on Iran, the province's chief justice Nasser Atabati said.

Atabati said those detained were accused of security offenses and cooperation with networks linked to Israel and the US. Authorities did not release details of the detainees' identities, evidence, legal proceedings or access to independent lawyers.
