Effective yesterday, May 28, Aetna is covering minimally
invasive arthrodesis (surgical joint fusion) of the sacroiliac joint
(the joint between the spine and hip) for sacroiliac joint syndrome and
sacroiliac joint pain.
The policy will include the use of SI-BONE’s (SIBN -1.2%) iFuse implant for such procedures.
