Alphabet Inc.'s Google Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG) announced on Thursday that numerous organizations were affected by a hacking campaign targeting Oracle Corporation in September.
According to Google's blog post, GTIG and Google-owned cybersecurity company Mandiant stated monitoring a large-scale extortion campaign in the previous month, which included emails sent to executives of several companies, claiming the theft of data from the victims' Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) applications.
"In some cases, the threat actor successfully exfiltrated a significant amount of data from impacted organizations," Google stated.
