OpenAI disclosed on Thursday that analytics provider Mixpanel suffered a security breach that exposed limited user data tied to the API platform at platform.openai.com.
"Trust, security, and privacy are foundational to our products," OpenAI stated, adding that they have removed Mixpanel from production systems and begun notifying affected users.
The breach occurred within Mixpanel's systems and did not impact OpenAI's infrastructure or affect users of ChatGPT and other products. The incident, discovered on November 9, involved the unauthorized export of analytics data.
