The foreign ministers of Iran and Qatar, Abbas Araghchi and Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, called on Sunday for de-escalation of tensions in Yemen, stressing the importance of safeguarding its territorial integrity.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry's statement, the two chief diplomats also expressed concerns about what they described as Israel's military incursions in Palestinian territories and Lebanon.
In recent days, the Southern Transitional Council (STC), a secessionist movement backed by the United Arab Emirates, has claimed control over parts of Yemen's southern territories. In response, Saudi Arabia allegedly launched airstrikes on the area, which Riyadh denied.
