United States President Donald Trump remarked on Monday that Hamas has "a very short period of time" to disarm if it indeed wants the Gaza ceasefire deal to move to its next stage.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said it remains to be seen "how it works out." He noted that his son-in-law and former aide Jared Kushner and Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff will be "in charge" of negotiating the process with Hamas on the US side. On the talks with Netanyahu, Trump stated that "we've agreed pretty much on most of the things."
Moreover, Netanyahu confirmed that Trump will receive the Israel Prize, given by Israel for a significant contribution to its society. He said that Trump and Israel are engaged in a "common battle against terrorism," describing the award as an "expression of thanks and appreciation."
