United States President Donald Trump stated during a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky that peace is "not a one-day process," but that it is "getting close."
Trump noted that the issue of territorial control of the Donbas region is still a problem, but expressed confidence that it would be resolved. Furthermore, Trump remarked that "some land" is still "up for grabs" and might be taken "in a couple of months," advising that it is better to reach an agreement now.
According to the US leader, the deal between Ukraine and Russia is now much closer after his encounter with Zelensky, which he described as "terrific."
