Alphabet Inc.'s Waymo LLC announced on Thursday that it temporarily halted its robotaxi services in the San Francisco Bay Area as strong storms are expected to hit the area.
"Service temporarily paused due to National Weather Service flash flood warning," a customer notification in the company’s driverless ride-hailing app read.
Earlier in the week, the company vowed to update its fleet in order to improve its services during power outages after San Francisco was hit by a major blackout over the weekend, and Waymo had to pause ride-hailing services.
