Russian oil company Gazprom and Hungary’s MOL agreed on the basic terms of a future purchase agreement for Serbia's Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS), Serbian Energy Minister Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic confirmed on Monday.
She noted that Serbian ownership of the company is to be raised by 5%, and that partners from the United Arab Emirates are also included in the agreement.
The negotiating sides will present the deal to the United States Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for review. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that OFAC should decide on prolonging the operational licence for NIS by January 23.
