Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado presented her Nobel Peace Prize to US President Donald Trump during her visit to the White House, local media reported on Thursday. It's unclear whether Trump accepted the medal.
Machado told the media outside the US Capitol that she presented Trump with her Nobel Peace Prize medal in "recognition for his unique commitment to our freedom."
Machado's efforts to oppose deposed Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's regime earned her the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, an honor that Trump claimed he deserved on several occasions.
