OpenAI Inc. aims to launch its first "device" in the second half of 2026, the company's Policy Chief Chris Lehane told Axios on Monday.
Lehane did not specify anything about the alleged device, although previous reports suggested that the company was developing prototypes of small screenless devices that were possibly intended to be worn.
OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, previously stated that the device is the result of the company's collaboration with Apple's former chief designer, Jony Ive. Altman did not disclose any details about the AI gadget, only noting that its "vibe" was envisioned as "peaceful and calm."
