US President Donald Trump announced during remarks in Detroit on Tuesday that starting February 1st, the federal government will suspend all payments to sanctuary cities and states with sanctuary cities like Minnesota and California.
"Starting February 1st, we're not making any payments to Sanctuary Cities or states having Sanctuary Cities because they do everything possible to protect criminals at the expense of American Citizens, and it breeds fraud and crime," Trump stated at the Detroit Economic Club.
Trump further stated that states like California will receive 90-day notices from his government compelling them to return anyone who entered the country illegally. Additionally, the president talked about suspending almost 8,000 Small Business Administration loans to "suspected scammers" in Minnesota.
