Brazil's President Lula has initiated discussions with Mexico's President Sheinbaum about a potential collaboration between Petrobras (PBR) and Mexico's Pemex for oil exploration in the Gulf of Mexico. This initiative aims to support Pemex, which is facing challenges in boosting its declining oil production. Additionally, Lula proposed the creation of a strategic oil reserve in Brazil and announced plans for Petrobras to repurchase the Bahia refinery, previously sold to Mubadala in 2021.
