The meeting is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Keyport High School, located at 351 Broad Street.

According to organizers, the event is intended to provide a space for residents to ask questions, share concerns, and seek clarity on a range of issues, including reports of possible cancer patterns within the community and the status of environmental testing and remediation efforts in the area.

Mayor and Council officials have been working alongside residents and coordinating with state and federal agencies to address the concerns, as questions surrounding environmental conditions and public health have continued to emerge.

Topics expected to be discussed include environmental testing involving soil, groundwater, wetlands, local creeks, and nearby Raritan Bay, as well as historical contamination concerns connected to the former Aeromarine site and surrounding properties.

Residents are also seeking more transparency regarding available data, testing results, and any cleanup efforts that may be underway.

“This is about our health, our families, and the future of our community,” organizers said in a statement. “Residents deserve accurate information, open discussion, and answers to important questions.”

The town hall is being organized as an opportunity to encourage constructive dialogue between residents, local officials, and other stakeholders, with a focus on sharing information and fostering community engagement.

Community members are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and participate in the discussion. Organizers say the goal is to ensure residents feel informed and heard as concerns continue to emerge regarding environmental conditions and potential health impacts in the area.
