Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Sunday that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) destroyed a tunnel built by Hezbollah near the village of Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon, despite the ongoing ceasefire.
Netanyahu and Katz said the tunnel was over 200 meters long and 25 meters deep and contained "hundreds of weapons and several launch silos" intended to target Israeli territory. They said that Israel informed the United States of the operation and repeated that the IDF will remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon and continue to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure.
