United States President Donald Trump stated on Saturday that no tolls will be charged in the Strait of Hormuz over the next 60-day ceasefire period with Iran, with hopes that the peace deal will be reached and the passage will remain free. However, he noted that if any country should charge the tolls, it would be the US.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump examined the possibility of not reaching the final deal with Tehran, claiming that the US could charge tolls "for services rendered as the Guardian Angel to the countries of the Middle East for purposes of both past, present, and future reimbursement of costs. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!! President DJT."
