How Should Republicans Respond To Fulton County? Indict The Left

There are 27 Republican attorneys general in the U.S., compared to 23 Democrats. But you’d hardly know it these days. Today, all the celebrity prosecutors are Democrats. The left has an entire caste of politicians who make their careers by loudly hunting down supposed “wrongdoers,” using whatever excuses they can manufacture.

This cabal of prosecutors has existed for a while. In New York, for instance, the attorney general’s office has spent years neutering the National Rifle Association with a legal offensive meant to shut it down or at least entirely disable it as a national political force — an offensive that has mostly succeeded.

But the Democrat effort to criminalize their political enemies has reached its climax in 2023. Republicans have sat and watched as four separate indictments have come down from three separate prosecutors, all with the same purpose: imprisoning Donald Trump and as many of his political allies as they can get away with. Monday’s indictment out of Fulton County, Georgia, is the most extreme yet, seeking to ensnare not just Trump but 18 of his associates for the “crime” of contesting the 2020 election through the courts and legislative process.

The goal of all these indictments is simple: rig the 2024 election in the court system before a single ballot can even be cast, and criminalize the MAGA political movement Trump has built.

As our founders knew, and as Ben Franklin famously warned, maintaining a republic is not easy. The temptation is always there for tyrants to abuse their powers to nullify elections and make their hold on power permanent. One of the crucial checks on that abuse of power is that when there is overreach, other branches of government can push back. We understand this intuitively at the federal level. A president who grows too ambitious can be checked by Congress or by the courts.

But that is not the only balancing force in the American system. There is another: When politicians are tempted to prosecute their political enemies, for political reasons, they must fear the same thing happening to them.

Right now, the left does not have that fear, because conservatives have sat idle, refusing to act. That must change.

Of the four indictments brought against Trump, three are completely legally unprecedented in nature. Jack Smith’s J6 indictment and the new Fulton County case are both attempts to criminalize previously completely legal efforts to contest disputed elections through the courts and legislative bodies. Alvin Bragg’s case in New York, meanwhile, is a surreal effort to prosecute Trump for “covering up” a federal crime he has never even been charged with.

For the sake of rigging an election and imprisoning its enemies, the left got creative. For the sake of defending our system of government from this outlandish attack, we may have to get creative too. I offer the following examples as a starting point, but by no means an endpoint.

Hunter Biden

If Trump can be harassed everywhere from Fulton County to the Financial District, why can’t any state prosecutors take aim at Hunter Biden, whose lifetime of sordid criminal behavior has been released for the entire planet to see?

Biden has written in his memoir about a four-day crack bender he went on in Nashville in October 2016, part of a “crack-fueled, cross-country odyssey.” His infamous laptop, meanwhile, has damning proof of Biden buying tens of thousands of dollars worth of prostitute services from Florida-based madam Ekaterina Moreva. What can Florida do in response to that? I don’t know the answer, but I know this: If Democrats discovered a Trump family member had sent thousands to a madam in one of their states, the answer would not be “nothing.”

James Biden

Joe Biden’s brother has been at the heart of a long-running federal investigation into various health care ventures he was part of, in which James flagrantly trafficked in his brother’s name to attract investment that otherwise never would have happened. James then allegedly used these companies as a personal piggy bank. Today, thanks to the Hunter Biden whistleblowers, we can guess the real reason no federal charges have been forthcoming: James Biden is being politically protected. Oh well. Since Biden’s companies have operated in states like Florida and Kentucky, it’s time for state-level officials to get in on the action.

Alejandro Mayorkas

The calamity along the U.S. border has long ceased to be defensible as simply an overmatched Border Patrol grappling with a flood of humanity. It is a calculated dereliction of duty to enable an ongoing invasion of the United States. Congress should of course impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas for his conduct, but there’s another option: indict him for abetting human trafficking.

Black Lives Matter

The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation is the most glaring charity scam in America. BLM took in $90 million in donations in its first year of operations, riding high on the link between its name and the chant shouted by George Floyd rioters.

The charity, from the beginning, was a scam. It spent $6 million on a luxury home in the Los Angeles area, justifying the purchase by saying it could be used by black social media influencers (seriously) or serve as a “safe house” for people receiving “death threats” (seriously). In reality, the house was enjoyed by founder Patrisse Cullors for her personal use, while being monitored by her brother, who was on BLM’s payroll.

The above is all we need to call it a criminal scam. Buying an entire luxury house with dollars donated to fight racism? AG offices exist to prosecute this sort of thing. BLM got donations from every state in the country and quite possibly nearly every county. So it’s time Republican AGs acted accordingly. The people of their states were defrauded by BLM. Investigate and indict them.

Southern Poverty Law Center

For decades, the Southern Poverty Law Center has collected revenues well in excess of its spending. In 2022, it collected $140 million and spent just $110 million, for a surplus of nearly $30 million. It has amassed a war chest of more than $700 million. The SPLC’s lavish headquarters has been nicknamed the Poverty Palace. Even other, more principled liberals find the group completely loathsome; in 1996, one of them called SPLC founder Morris Dees “a fraud and a conman.” In a 2019 piece, former staffer Bob Moser said the group was “ripping” off donors and was essentially a “con.”

Well, the SPLC is headquartered in Alabama. So, I ask, where is the war room in the Alabama AG’s office investigating the SPLC the way New York investigates the NRA?

Literally Any Democrat, for Anything

But really, giving specific names is beside the point. The cases against Trump and his associates aren’t the product of a reasoned criminal inquiry. They are the product of years of work that started from the premise of “investigate Trump for literally anything, and bring whatever charges you can come up with, even if they’re invented.”

That premise can be equally applied to any Democrat official, and for the time being, it should be. Given how many lawmakers fudge their federal taxes (or don’t pay them at all), what are the odds they’re paying their state taxes properly? What are the odds that congressmen representing deep-blue cities in red states are perfectly clean in all their dealings? That’s a good place to start. Send out subpoenas, demand records, fish constantly for anything remotely questionable.

“Investigate first, define the crimes later” should be the order of the day. And for even the most minor of offenses, the rule should be: no charity, no goodwill, no mercy. After all, it’s what Democrats have practiced the past seven years.

Americans Must Not Kneel to the Biden Administration’s Bullying

Biden’s America is utterly unrecognizable from the “land of the free” that our Founding Fathers envisioned. Through the weaponization of government agencies, as well as a ruthless, calculated fight for radical abortion and transgender policies, the Biden administration has effectively forced millions of Americans to choose between living out their faith or to suffer serious harassment, persecution and even punishment for their sincerely held beliefs.

The Biden administration recently showed its hand by announcing that it is reversing plans to station the U.S. Space Command’s headquarters in Alabama and would instead make Colorado Springs its permanent headquarters. This change has left little doubt it is due “in part because of concerns about the state’s restrictive abortion law, according to two U.S. officials and one U.S. defense official familiar with the discussions.”

The whole situation reeks of the administration’s mob-like tactics. Anyone paying attention can see the change is also retaliation against Alabama’s Senator Tommy Tuberville, who has spent the past few months heroically fighting the Biden administration’s illegal attempt to use the Department of Defense (DOD) as a vehicle to promote military abortions.

In February the DOD began violating both the longstanding Hyde amendment, as well as federal law 10 USC 1093, to fund abortion-related travel expenses for service members and their families. Senator Tuberville responded by promising to block all military nominations until the illegal directive was ended, and since then has blocked over 230 nominations.

Of course, Biden’s cronies claimed that the Space Command debacle had nothing to do with Tuberville, though they admitted that “he’s not helping.” The truth is that the Administration is sending a message to Senator Tuberville who had the gall to stand in the way of its far-left agenda. Tuberville’s state will now suffer a major financial and scientific loss and the Biden administration is hoping his constituents will blame Tuberville instead of Biden whose illegal activity led to this whole situation.

That is how the Biden administration operates – reward for those who toe the line, and intolerance, open hostility, and persecution for those who stand  in the way of their radical gender and abortion agenda. This pattern has been demonstrated amply throughout the past two years, as the Administration has exhausted every taxpayer resource to punish political opponents, while ignoring the widespread violence, hatred and outright domestic terrorism far left radicals have inflicted on pro-life organizations and churches around the nation.

For example, Biden’s far left friends in the Department of Justice had no qualms fighting to send Mark Houck, a pro-life father of 9, to jail for 11 years for a crime he was promptly acquitted of by a jury of his peers. The Biden administration’s ruthless pursuit of its political opponents didn’t end there. In 2022 alone, Biden’s DOJ indicted 26 pro-life advocates with violations of the Freedom to Access Clinic Entrances Act (FACE) which carry an 11-year prison sentence. Conversely, less than 1% of the nearly 400 violent attacks on pro-life organizations and Catholic Churches around the country have resulted in federal charges. And a man who literally shot an elderly pro-life woman got a mere 100 hours (about 4 days) of community service for his heinous crime.

Americans were supposed to look the other way when the FBI was caught spying on faithful Catholics at religious services, while circulating memos smearing Catholics as potential domestic extremists, and encouraging agents to use Catholic churches as “new avenues for tripwire and source development.”

Weaponizing government against political opponents is nothing new to Biden though. He was part of an administration that for years attempted to force Catholic nuns, the Little Sisters of the Poor, to violate their religious beliefs and consciences by providing contraceptives and abortifacients in their healthcare plans.

All of these innocent Americans, and others we have not mentioned, share a common courage in standing up to an administration that doesn’t tolerate dissent from its radical, extreme orthodoxy.

We should look to these brave Americans for encouragement. We simply must not cave to Biden’s attempts to bully everyone who disagrees into compliance. Like Senator Tuberville, Mark Houck, the Little Sisters, and others, we must stand for human life and freedom over a government that has been weaponized against many of its own people.

Trump Is Not Guilty Of Racketeering; The Deep State Is

Fani Willis, the district attorney in Fulton County, Ga, charged former President Donald Trump and 18 colleagues with racketeering under Georgia's RICO law. The charge is that he conspired with them to overturn the 2020 Georgia presidential election results.

Experienced lawyers, such as those at Bochetto & Lentz, a law firm that says it specializes in "messy, complicated, high-pressure, and high-stakes cases," highlight the benefits of using RICO statutes, which enable prosecutors to tie numerous crimes into one case, even if they have covered an extensive period. The person who didn't "pull the trigger, set a fire, or commit a burglary" can be charged under RICO laws. It is little wonder that RICO has been traditionally used against the Mob.

These are the 19 people Fanni Willis, Fulton County, Georgia, DA, charged. Screenshot

The Left is so desperate to get Trump that Willis outlines a broad 97-page indictment alleging that he corralled his colleagues across state lines in Arizona and Pennsylvania, among others, to plan and execute a sophisticated criminal scheme to overturn the people's will, all within 56 days. The AP called the election for Biden on November 7. Trump called Georgia's Secretary of State on January 2, 2021.

We counter that if anyone needs to be charged with criminal racketeering conduct in 2020, it should be the Deep State that should be indicted. Here are six extraordinary examples of collusion that propelled candidate Biden who had lost the first three primary races to miraculously become the Democratic nominee and then win the general election, though he hardly ever left his Delaware basement.

Election law changes. The number of people in 2020 who voted absentee in states with little experience with no-excuse mail-in balloting and drop-boxes was mind-boggling. In states Democrats controlled (like New Jersey), they had the laws changed to send absentee ballots to every registered voter, not just on request. In states where the Left had no legislative control (Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Wisconsin), they filed over 145 lawsuits alleging that Covid shutdowns would disproportionately disenfranchise minorities and other communities of color. The remedies they sought and had approved by partisan secretaries of state and judges were relaxed rules to accept late mail-in ballots and eliminating restrictions to verify ballot signatures against voter rolls.

The failure of the justice system. History will record the failure of the William Barr Justice Department, which did not investigate those statewide election laws that pushed through ballot changes before the 2020 elections, and the various courts that never agreed to look at election integrity even though there was sufficient evidence of malpractice.

Suppressing Trump's good news stories. With Covid raging in the summer of 2020, a critical question was Trump's management of the pandemic and if an emergency vaccine would be ready soon. Trump kept insisting that extraordinary measures taken to speed through Stage-3 clinical trials would result in a vaccine shortly. The Left and the media scoffed. Pfizer announced on November 9, six days after the election, that a vaccine more than 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 had been found. If Pfizer had revealed this information ten days prior, the election could have turned to Trump.

Suppressing Biden's bad news stories. When the New York Post revealed the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop, abandoned at an iPhone repair shop, the media never pursued the story. Social media outlets - Facebook, Twitter - disallowed sharing of the NY Post series. Twitter even suspended the NY Post, the oldest newspaper in the United States. TIPP data shows that the election could have swung to Trump if this story had gained traction.

Assertions of 50 intelligence officials. On the eve of a crucial presidential debate, over 50 intelligence officials wrongly asserted that the Hunter Biden laptop was ‘Russian disinformation’ to help tip the election to President Biden. Today, we know that the laptop story was 100% accurate; and had this information not been suppressed by intelligence officials with active support from Big Tech, Trump may have been reelected.

Zuckbucks. According to the Foundation for Government Accountability, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative—led by tech billionaire Mark Zuckerberg and his wife—donated more than $400 million to local election offices in 47 states. The infusion of cash went toward boosting Democrat turnout in several swing states. For example, in Pennsylvania, nine out of every 10 dollars that flowed into the state went to counties that voted for Biden. And in Georgia, Biden counties got nearly four times more Zuckerbucks per registered voter than Trump counties. The Barr DOJ never investigated this illegal campaign contribution.

Various organizations affiliated with the Left - federal, state, local officials, media, Big Tech, academics, Never Trumpers like the Lincoln Project and Mark Zuckerberg - worked hand in glove for over ten months to snatch victory from an otherwise popular Trump. Yet it is Trump who is under the gun facing 91 charges in four federal cases and over 700 years in prison.

Something is terribly wrong with this picture.

Is It Time to Ban Electric Vehicles?

The New York Fire Department recently reported that so far this year there have been 108 lithium-ion battery fires in New York City, which have injured 66 people and killed 13. According to FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh, "There is not a small amount of fire, it [the vehicle] literally explodes." The resulting fire is "very difficult to extinguish and so it is particularly dangerous."

Last year there were more than 200 fires from batteries from e-bikes, EVs and other devices.

A fire ignited at an e-bike shop and killed four people near midnight on the morning of June 20. Two individuals were left in critical condition. The fire commissioner has warned New Yorkers that such devices could be very dangerous and typically explode in such a way that renders escape impossible.

FDNY also reports that in just three years, lithium-ion battery fires have surpassed those started by cooking and smoking as the most common causes of fatal fires in New York City. It's happening all over the country as these blazes have become commonplace. Cars and e-bikes are randomly blowing up in driveways and garages.

Now let's be honest: 13 deaths in a city the size of New York with some 8 million people is hardly an epidemic. Regulations should always be based on a cost versus benefit calculation, or there would be no cars at all.

And yet the same scaremongers on the left who have zero tolerance and want bans for small risks when it comes to everything from swimming pool diving boards, gas stoves, plastic straws, vaping, fireworks and so on, have a surprisingly high pain threshold when it comes to people dying or suffering critical injured from "green" electric battery fires.

Or consider this: In 1965, Ralph Nader almost single-handedly helped ban the popular Chevrolet Corvair -- famous for its engine placed in the back trunk of the car. Nader's bestselling shock book "Unsafe at Any Speed" declared the car was deadly. But there was no real evidence of that claim, and to this day there are no reliable statistics on how many passengers -- if any -- died in Corvairs from rear-end accidents.

What is indisputable is that EVs will cause far more deaths than Corvairs ever did.

One other example: There have been more fatalities in just one city in a single year from lithium-ion batteries in cars than all the people who died from the 1979 Three Mile Island nuclear plant accident -- which was zero.

Yet, after the accident, thanks to the environmentalists' fear campaign (with the help of the blockbuster anti-nuke movie "The China Syndrome"), no domestic nuclear plants were built for three decades. That is despite the fact that nuclear plants emit no greenhouse gases.

But with EVs, the greens are pushing aside any concerns about the collateral damage of deaths and injuries. Biden wants to mandate that nearly ALL new cars sold in the U.S. be EVs by 2032. If that happens, many thousands of Americans may die or will be inured from electric vehicle fires.

All this is especially hypocritical because once upon a time the left's mantra was "no trading blood for oil." Now they are willing to trade blood in exchange for getting Americans to stop using oil. An irony of all this is that because of all the energy needed to produce windmills, solar panels and electric batteries, new studies are showing that the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions to this "net zero" transition is close to zero. It turns out, green energy causes some pollution, too.

For the record, I'm not in favor of the government banning EVs or e-bikes or just about anything. I just believe that we should make policy decisions based on real and factual risk assessments, not false scares and sensationalism.

As for the future of EVs, maybe it's time for Ralph Nader to write a sequel to "Unsafe at Any Speed."

NYC Mayor Calls On Biden Admin To Expedite Work Permits For Illegal Immigrants

by Frank Fang via The Epoch Times,

Mayor Eric Adams once again implored the Biden administration to speed up work permits for illegal immigrants in New York City, arguing that the delays are “anti-American” amid the immigration crisis engulfing his city.

“It’s unfair as the city continues to evolve at a national crisis and humanitarian crisis of a level that has never been experienced before is now dropped into the lap of this city with no support that we deserve,” Mr. Adams said at a rally in support of asylum seekers outside of Brooklyn Borough Hall on Aug. 15.

"What is more anti-American than not allowing someone to work? What is more anti-American than that?" the mayor added. "So what is wrong with them having the right to work? There's no reason the national government is not staying true to the basic principle of the American experience to allow you the right to work. It is unacceptable."

According to federal law, illegal aliens must wait roughly six months after filing their asylum applications before applying for a work permit.

“This city needs workers,” Mr. Adams said.

“We need workers. We need people contributing in our society. We need people making this the melting pot that it is. That is how our city has become the greatest city on the globe by opening our doors.”

The mayor, a Democrat, also said the city is coping with over 100,000 illegal immigrants, and reiterated his previous comments that the cost of providing shelter and other services to them could top $12 billion over the next three years.

“This is not a New York City problem. This is a national problem,” Mr. Adams said.

“This is the greatest challenge our city has faced in decades. We got to get it right.”

‘Please Step Up’

The rally was joined by several elected officials, including Brooklyn Borough President Anthony Reynoso and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.

"President [Joe] Biden, please step up. Provide the resources that are needed so we can match this humanitarian crisis with a real humanitarian response. We're begging you, we’re pleading to you, united as a voice," Mr. Williams said.

“I have asked, and I will ask again, that President Biden himself come and visit. Maybe if he saw with his own two eyes, what was going on, he will step up from the sidelines,” Mr. Williams added.

Mr. Williams, a former New York City Council member, lost to Kathy Hochul in the Democratic primary for governor of New York in June last year.

Mr. Reynoso praised the mayor for his efforts to tackle the immigration crisis but criticized the Biden administration for being “completely absent.”

“There are only so many things we could do legally at the state and city level. We can only pass so many laws that tinker at the margins of this problem. But the federal government could deal with the core problem. And they are not,” Mr. Reynoso said.

“The mayor is doing the best he can under the circumstances to solve for [sic] this problem the best he can.”

The Brooklyn borough president warned that the crisis could dampen Democrats’ chances in upcoming elections.

“We need those seats,” Mr. Reynoso said. “I want to be very clear that this can be used against the Democratic Party during these congressional races.”

New York State Assembly Member Robert Carroll and New York City Council Member Alexa Avilés were also at the rally.

“It is time for the state and the federal government to provide direct resources for New York City so that we can do the right thing,” Mr. Carroll said.

“We can do the humane thing because New York City is and has always been a city of immigrants."

“'I’m here again with my colleagues saying to the federal government, to the Biden administration, you must put forward a national strategy, fix this immigration system,” Ms. Avilés said. “We need comprehensive immigration reform; you can advance work authorization and all the other tools that we have been demanding for months, if not years.”

Meadows Wants To Move Georgia Indictment To Federal Court - And He May Succeed

Former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows has asked to move charges against him to federal court, after he was charged this week in Georgia alongside the former president and 17 other individuals.

"Mr. Meadows is entitled to remove this action to federal court because the charges against him plausibly give rise to a federal defense based on his role at all relevant times as the White House Chief of Staff to the President of the United States," said attorney Timothy Parlatore in a Tuesday filing.

Meadows was charged by a grand jury on Monday with violating the state's Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.

"Mr. Meadows has the right to remove this matter. The conduct giving rise to the charges in the indictment all occurred during his tenure and as part of his service as Chief of Staff," his lawyers wrote.

Trump was also charged with "unlawfully soliciting, requesting, and importuning" Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger by asking him to 'find' votes for him - a comment construed by the left to suggest Trump was asking him to break the law, however Trump's attorneys will likely argue that the former president, in context, was referring to the general ballot-counting malarkey and other oddities surrounding the 2020 US election (covering up windows, kicking out observers, overnight ballot drops, major cities stopping their counts at 9pm for the first time in anyone's lifetime, broken water pipe, suitcases under desk, that chart showing the overnight jump, etc.).

Meadows likely to succeed?

As Just the News notes

Although Trump's New York case was not upgraded to federal court, Parlatore said that the decision from federal Judge Alvin Hellerstein of New York's Southern District "perfectly laid the groundwork" for moving the Georgia case.

What distinguishes the Georgia from the New York case is the nature of the alleged criminal acts. The New York case involved payments made by then-Trump attorney Michael Cohen to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Judge Hellerstein said that "Hush money paid to an adult film star is not related to a President’s official acts. It does not reflect in any way the color of the President’s official duties."

"I think that it's going to be almost impossible to avoid removal. Removal is important because when you have a federal official that is being charged by a state in violation of state law, that's something that you want to have removed to the federal courts so the federal judge can decide, you know, do the federal authorities have some type of ability to do this?" Parlatore told JTN Tuesday evening.

"It's going to significantly expand the jury pool so you're not just going to have Fulton County jurors, but more importantly, when they go on to the next round, where they're going to be fighting about the sufficiency of this indictment, I've read it, and the RICO count is completely legally incompetent, in my opinion," he added - suggesting that the RICO charge should be heard before a federal judge.

"I think it's important to get that in front of a federal judge so they can apply the standards set by the Supreme Court on these types of RICO cases, even though it's a state statute, as opposed to the federal statute," he said, adding "One of the things that really jumped out at me is something they call continuity, where the enterprise has to have some continuous purpose as opposed to just being an isolated incident. And here it is an isolated incident because it all centers around the election and so it's the type of thing that in federal court, RICO gets dismissed."

Parlatore, who has previously represented NY Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik, slammed the Fulton County court for leaking the indictment early, calling it "emblematic of the larger sloppiness" of the case, and said that the indictment contained spelling errors.

Fulton County DA, Fani Willis

"It's clearly something that was rushed. They didn't do it carefully," he said, adding "As much as they are not careful with the simple administrative aspects of it, to a lawyer like me that's tried RICO cases before, it is really emblematic of, you know, they were careless with the law. They were careless with the entire structure of this thing."

Another attorney, Buddy Parker of Maloy Jenkins Parker - a RICO expert, told Straight Arrow News that the case will likely be moved to federal court.

"As an officer of the United States being charged with a violation of the law of the state of Georgia, under concepts of federalism, a officer of the United States can, on motion, require the case to be transferred to the United States District Court," he said (via JTN).

More on Acts of Racketeering via the Epoch Times.

"Nothing Mr. Meadows is alleged in the indictment to have done is criminal per se: arranging Oval Office meetings, contacting state officials on the President's behalf, visiting a state government building, and setting up a phone call for the President," Mr. Meadows's attorney wrote in the filing. "One would expect a Chief of Staff to the President of the United States to do these sorts of things."

The indictment lists (pdf) several of Mr. Meadows's actions as chief of staff as acts of racketeering, including a Nov. 20, 2020, meeting with Michigan state legislators in the White House during which President Trump "made false statements concerning fraud in the November 3, 2020, presidential election in Michigan," and sending a text to Rep. Scott Perry (R-Penn.) the next day asking for the contact information of state legislators.

"Can you send me the number for the speaker and the leader of PA Legislature. POTUS wants to chat with them," the text read.

The indictment claims, "This was an overt act in futherance of the conspiracy."

It lists the following Nov. 25, 2020, meeting with Pennsylvania state legislators as a continuance of the alleged conspiracy, as well as Mr. Meadows's participation in meetings with political adviser John McEntee in December 2020, when Mr. McEntee was asked to draw up plans to delay Congress's joint session on Jan. 6, 2021.

In relation to Georgia, it cites Mr. Meadows's trip to Cobb County Civic Center on Dec. 22, 2020, in order to try to observe the signature match audit, but was prevented from entering. The following day, the president made a call to Georgia Secretary of State Chief Investigator Frances Watson, and the indictment notes that Mr. Meadows had arranged the call. Days later, Mr. Meadows sent a text to Ms. Watson asking if there was any way the signature verification could be sped up, offering financial assistance.
