Nashville's move to advance to Phase 3 of its COVID-19 reopening plan will allow Ryman Hospitality Properties' (NYSE:RHP) Nashville properties to allow events of up to 500 people with Nashville Health Department approval.
RHP gains 0.7% in after-hours trading.
That will allow the company to hold performances at the Grand Ole Opry House and for concerts at Ryman Auditorium as of Oct. 1.
A local mask mandate and other social distancing guidelines remain in effect.
The company will make 500 tickets available as part of the Grand Ole Opry's 95th anniversary celebration on Saturday, Oct. 3, the first time it will have a live audience since March.
"This expansion will allow Gaylord Opryland to host more convention and group customers who have expressed a desire to begin meeting in person again," said RHP Chairman and CEO Colin Reed.
Currently, the four operating Gaylord Hotels can operate at the following levels, subject to applicable social distancing and mask mandates: Gaylord Opryland — events up to 500 people; Gaylord Palms — group events of any size; Gaylord Texan — group events at 50% of stated capacity; and Gaylord Rockies — group events up to 100 people.
