Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya warned on Tuesday that Ukraine is planning to launch drones from Latvia and other Baltic countries.
"According to new information available to Russian intelligence services, Kyiv does not intend to limit itself to using air corridors provided by the Baltic states. Drones are also planned to be launched from the territory of these countries," the Russian envoy said at a United Nations Security Council meeting on Ukraine. He added that Moscow's response will be inevitable if drones come from the Baltic countries' territories.
Nebenzya further said that Western countries are boosting weapon supplies to Ukraine and turning a blind eye to the use of their airspaces for Ukrainian drone flights. He also addressed the peace negotiations and noted that the process has reached an impasse.
