Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem slammed negotiations between the Lebanese government and Israel aimed at reaching a US-brokered ceasefire.
In a presser on Thursday, Qassem called the efforts "shameless" and a "farce" that amounts to "surrender and defeat." He went on to say that Washington's peace proposal is the result of "futile and humiliating" negotiations seeking to formalize Lebanon's surrender to the "Greater Israel" project. The militant organization's chief underscored that the group remains solely committed to a comprehensive ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of the Israeli army from Lebanon.
Earlier today, Tehran demanded that Israeli troops abandon territory occupied during the 40-day war, while Lebanon's President Joseph Aoun shared an optimistic outlook on ceasefire progress.
