Crude prices fell on Thursday after Israel and Lebanon agreed to a potential ceasefire, dependent on Hezbollah ending hostilities. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said the ceasefire can be implemented 24 hours after being approved by all parties. However, Hezbollah indicated that it will not halt attacks.
Brent for deliveries in September plunged 3.5% and went for $91.76 per barrel at 8:01 am ET, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in July dropped 3.15%, going for $92.38 per barrel.
