Iran insists that Hormuz strait has been closed

 Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) insisted on Thursday that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed for traffic until further notice.

In an official statement, the agency blamed the decision on "the tensions created by the US aggression forces in the region." "Applicants who have received a transit permit are asked to be patient and await further guidance from the PGSA," it noted.

Earlier, Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz in response to the latest attacks the United States launched on its territory. Later, Washington insisted that the passage was still open for transit.
