Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that two oil tankers that attempted to sail through the Strait of Hormuz via an "unsafe" route exploded.
"Late last night, two violating oil tankers, which were trying to enter and exit the unsafe and eventful route south of the Strait of Hormuz, were blown up at the instigation and coercion of the US army," the IRGC said in a statement carried by Iran's Mehr news agency.
The statement stressed that as long as the US strikes continue, the passage "will not be safe for the passage of chemical fertilizer and even a single drop of oil and gas."
