Anthropic could earmark 15-20% of shares for retail investors at the IPO price next month.
An allocation of 20% would be in-line with what SpaceX offered to retail traders.
The hotly anticipated debut will land sometime next month.
Anthropic's S-1 filing offered little detail about how much stock could be offered to retail investors at the IPO, but new clues hint the AI giant could follow SpaceX's lead in earmarking up to 20% of the shares for the day trader crowd.
Since the Claude maker released its S-1 filing on Monday, investors have been poring over the numbers. For eager retail traders, though, this line probably fell flat:
"The representatives may agree to allocate a number of shares of our Class A common stock to underwriters for sale to their online brokerage account holders."
In short, you might get a shot, or you might have to wait to buy shares in the open market with everyone else.
But according to a Bloomberg report on Wednesday, Anthropic has tapped JPMorgan to lead the retail offering, which could amount to 15% to 20% of its shares earmarked for retail traders at the IPO.
An allocation of 20% would bring Anthropic in line with SpaceX, which initially said it would set aside 30% but dialed that down as it neared the IPO date.
