The Dow Jones Industrial Average soared by more than 500 points on Friday after the freshest report showed that the United States services sector managed to remain in expansion. The update seemingly briefly overshadowed the ongoing government shutdown.
The Dow Jones jumped by 1.12% or 521 points at 12:17 pm ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.19%. The S&P 500 gained 0.53%.
