Musk: 90% of driving in 2036 will be done by AI

 The world's richest man, Elon Musk, reiterated on Monday his prediction that within a decade, 90% of all distance driven will be handled by AI. He suggested that, rather than being a mainstream utility, manually driving a personal car will soon become a niche, luxury hobby.

"10 years from now, probably 90% of all distance driven will be driven by the AI in a self-driving car. It will be quite a niche thing in 10 years to actually be driving your own car," he told the Samson International Smart Mobility Summit in Israel via video chat.

He added that the path to self-driving cars being safer than human drivers was "very clear," while saying that humanoid robots will be "pretty much everywhere" in ten years and that "everyone will want one or two." Musk went on to say that an IPO for SpaceX might happen "pretty soon."
