The United States agreed in a new text sent to Iran to lift sanctions on the latter's oil temporarily, Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Monday, citing a source close to the negotiating team.
The source detailed that the sanctions would be halted through a US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) waiver while discussions about ending the war are underway.
While Tehran shared its belief that lifting all sanctions against the country should be a part of Washington's commitments, so far, US President Donald Trump's administration has only offered a temporary relief until a final understanding has been reached.
