Netanyahu: Hezbollah lost 90% of rocket stockpile

 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed on Saturday that his country's military destroyed approximately 90% of Hezbollah's rocket stockpile.

In an address to the media, Netanyahu reiterated that Israel's agreement with the Lebanese government guarantees the military to keep what he described as a security strip in southern Lebanon "as long as there is a threat." He stressed that the United States "recognized" that move. Later, he added that Israel would return to operations in Lebanon if the situation requires it.

"This is a major blow to Iran and Hezbollah, which tried to force us to withdraw," Netanyahu underscored. He also noted a "fundamental change" in the relations with Lebanon, as Damascus is now "telling Iran and Hezbollah for the first time that we want peace with Israel."
