The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) Center said in a notice on Saturday that another vessel was hit by "an unidentified projectile" in the Strait of Hormuz.
The UK maritime authority stressed that the tanker sustained damage to its bridge, adding that all crew are safe. "No environmental damage reported at present," the UKMTO added. In a separate notice, the maritime agency stressed that the maritime security threat level in the Strait of Hormuz "has increased to SUBSTANTIAL following attacks on merchant vessels."
Earlier in the week, another vessel was struck in the critical waterway. The attack was attributed to Iran, which triggered a short resumption of strikes between the US and Iran.
