The United States government lifted restrictions on Anthropic PBC's Claude Mythos 5 AI model, granting access to more than 100 domestic institutions, including major corporations and federal agencies, Semafor reported.
In a letter obtained by the media outlet, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick confirmed the decision to Anthropic on Friday, noting "significant progress" in negotiations with the company since the export block was imposed two weeks earlier.
The earlier ban had halted use of Mythos and its companion model Fable 5 after warnings from some firms, including Amazon, that the systems could be exploited for malicious purposes.
