Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei accused the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) of aiding United States President Donald Trump's campaign against Iran after NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte acknowledged European involvement.
Baghaei described Rutte's remarks as "a clear and damning admission," claiming the alliance's role amounted to "active complicity in an unlawful war of aggression" and demanding accountability from member states. He cited Italy and Romania as examples of countries that supported the strikes.
Earlier, Rutte told Fox News that Italy had permitted hundreds of US aircraft to depart from bases on its territory to "support" Trump's Operation Epic Fury, while Romania's capital, Bucharest, restricted civilian flights to accommodate refueling operations.
