'US said to be urging Meta AI model review: NYT'

 The United States government is urging Meta Platforms, Inc. to allow federal officials to review its artificial intelligence (AI) models so it can evaluate systems and assess risks, the New York Times reported, citing sources familiar ​with ​the ⁠request.

So far, Meta is the only major American AI company that has not agreed to work with the Center for AI Standards and Innovation (CAISI). OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI and Microsoft have already agreed to share their models for evaluation, according to the newspaper.

The company was contacted by email, following the government's instruction for Anthropic PBC to restrict access to its latest models over national security concerns.
