Microsoft Corp. announced on Tuesday that it completed the construction of its first data center, located in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. The tech giant said that the facility is fully operational and employs over 500 workers.
Microsoft stated that it expects to invest a total of $4.7 billion between 2024 and 2028 on construction in Wisconsin, with a second data center adjacent to the first underway and expected to be completed in 2028. "Wisconsin is now home to the world’s most powerful supercomputer," Microsoft Vice Chair and President Brad Smith said, adding that the project will "help power the next generation of AI innovation globally."
