'Cuomo to co-chair ICE, OKX crypto venture'

 Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo will co-chair a new joint venture between Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the owner of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and cryptocurrency exchange OKX, the Financial Times reported on Monday.

The venture aims to develop tokenized assets, digital asset derivatives, and around-the-clock trading infrastructure. "It's now a different role for me with OKX, but OKX, I believe, is at the forefront," Cuomo said. He added that the partnership is currently his only financial technology endeavor.

Cuomo said the project will move quickly to obtain regulatory approvals to operate as a futures commission merchant and broker-dealer. "I know the company well. I know how it operates ... I do believe this is also going to do a great public service," he said. "The technology is here, it's not going back in a box ... use it, innovate, and thrive or stagnate and die."
