SpaceX's Starlink Mobile announced on Sunday that it is offering free service to Movistar users in Venezuela's La Guaira region, adding that it is also working on offering free connectivity to Digitel and Movilnet users "as quickly as possible."
"Families, communities and businesses with compatible LTE smartphones can now stay connected through SMS even if terrestrial networks are not available and customer phones will automatically connect to Starlink Mobile. Coverage will work best with a clear view of the sky," Starlink stated in a post on X.
The company previously said that it would provide free service through July 25 to all new and existing customers affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela.
