Hamas has moved the center for most of its organizational activities from Qatar to Turkey in recent months, London-based Arabic outlet Asharq al-Awsat reported on Friday.
According to three people familiar with the matter, the group's leadership has held all of its recent meetings in Turkey. Those gatherings included the latest election for the Hamas Political Bureau, which ended without a clear result. Allegedly, Hamas sought more proximity to Syria in an effort to form closer ties with its new government.
Recently, Hamas dissolved its government body located in Gaza.
