An intern at NATO's Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Casteau was arrested on suspicion of espionage, the Belgian Federal Prosecutor's Office said on Saturday.
The prosecutor's office noted the detained woman was a Canadian citizen of Chinese origin and is accused of "spying on behalf of a third country and of being a member of a criminal organization."
The prosecutor added that the identity of the individual and any further details regarding the case will not be disclosed for now.
