FDA advisers back first of seven peptides under review for looser rules

An FDA advisory panel voted 8-6 to recommend broadening access to BPC-157, the first of seven popular wellness peptides under regulatory review. The decision by the Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee (PCAC) represents a significant pushback against the FDA's own internal scientists, who strongly recommended against adding any of the seven substances to the federal compounding list due to a lack of human clinical trial data.
