The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said a tanker caught fire after an unidentified projectile struck it about 70 nautical miles southwest of Al Shuqaiq, Saudi Arabia.
According to the UKMTO, the crew was working to extinguish the fire, and no casualties or environmental damage were reported.
The agency concluded its statement by urging ships passing through the area to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity.
