No nuclear activity was taking place at Pickaxe Mountain, the Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday, rejecting US attention to the site as a pretext for military action.
“Washington’s obsessive focus on Kolang Kouh where no nuclear activity is taking place is nothing more than a fabricated pretext for aggression, destruction, and sabotage,” Esmaeil Baqaei wrote on X.
Baqaei said Iran had declared all its nuclear activities to the IAEA under its safeguards obligations and accused Washington of violating international law by attacking and threatening Iranian nuclear facilities.
He also questioned IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi’s silence and said Iran was prepared to confront further US attacks.
