Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a call with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Tuesday, the Turkish presidency announced on X.
During the call, Erdogan congratulated Spain for its FIFA World Cup victory and hailed its "moral" stance on Palestine. The Turkish president told the country that it "has also been embraced by football fans across the world," according to the post.
Erdogan expressed happiness at hosting Sanchez in Ankara as part of the NATO Summit and added that he would be pleased to see Sanchez again during the planned Turkey-Spain Intergovernmental Summit in 2027.
