Pakistan has asked the United States for a $10 billion exchange stabilization facility, following Islamabad’s role in brokering talks over the Iran war, Reuters reported, citing two sources briefed on the matter.
Pakistani Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb made the request in a letter delivered during a meeting with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Tuesday, Reuters cited a US official as saying.
In the letter, Islamabad asked for the creation of a Bilateral Exchange Stabilization Support Facility between the United States and the Pakistani government worth $10 billion, with a maturity of up to five years, the report added.
