Oman said on Thursday it was coordinating with Saudi Arabia, Yemeni parties and the UN special envoy for Yemen to resume the political track aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.
Oman, which has long acted as a mediator in Yemen, said in a foreign ministry statement it was working to help broker calm after Yemen's Houthis launched attacks on Saudi tankers, a move widely seen as linked to the conflict between the United States and Iran.
The ministry also stressed the need to avoid escalation and any threats that could worsen the situation in the Red Sea and endanger freedom of navigation.
