Berkshire Hathaway Inc. raised its stake in Alphabet, Inc. by more than 48 million shares, making it one of its three biggest stock holdings behind Apple and American Express, according to the company's filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) published on Friday.
According to the filing, the conglomerate holding company now holds 78,791,167 of Alphabet's Class A shares and 27,188,433 of its Class C shares, with the combined value of $37.9 billion. Berkshire also raised its stake in Delta Air Lines to 57,320,000 shares, in Macy's to 7,347,426 shares, in Lennar to 13,409,858 shares, and in The New York Times to 15,700,000 shares, among others.
The company also cut its stake in several companies, including in Bank of America by 30,230,150 shares to 483,394,015 shares, in Kroger by 11,000,000 shares, in Capital One Financial by 4,150,000 shares, and in Nucor by 2,049,323 shares.
