NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said Thursday that Russia is attempting to "divide" the alliance and push it back from helping Ukraine by "testing" European allies through airspace violations, sabotage, and other hostile acts. However, he stressed that Moscow, despite its efforts, has failed to intimidate the alliance.
"While we see no imminent military attack against NATO, we must be prepared for Russia's campaign of hostile actions against allies to continue. We must all remain vigilant. We must all remain alert," Rutte stated at the press conference in Germany, adding that the alliance has the capability to defend "every inch of allied territory" in case of a threat.
"Our message is clear: keep calm, carry on, and continue the support for Ukraine," he added.
