Breakthrough Cancer Drug Outperforms $40B Keytruda: HCW Biologics' New Immunotherapy

HCW Biologics (NASDAQ: HCWB) has developed a breakthrough second-generation pembrolizumab-based immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) using its proprietary TRBC platform technology. The company's novel immunotherapeutic has shown superior performance against solid tumors, particularly pancreatic and ovarian cancer, in preclinical studies.

The new therapy addresses key limitations of current ICIs, which have less than 20% response rates despite generating $40 billion in worldwide sales in 2024. HCWB's enhanced version not only blocks checkpoint receptors but also neutralizes TGF-β and promotes immune cell infiltration into tumors, demonstrating better efficacy than standard pembrolizumab in preclinical trials.

Dr. Hing C. Wong, CEO, will present detailed IND-enabling study results at Nova Southeastern University on September 12, 2025.

Sharps Technology Stock Soars Over 50% After $400 Million Solana Treasury Bet

Sharps Technology Inc. (NASDAQ:STSS) shares skyrocketed on Monday after the company announced it will raise more than $400 million through a private placement to fund a digital asset treasury anchored by Solana (CRYPTO: SOL/USD), the native token of the Solana blockchain.

The transaction, structured as a private investment in public equity at $6.50 per unit, includes warrants exercisable at $9.75 for three years. The offering is expected to close around Aug. 28, 2025, with backing from ParaFi, Pantera, FalconX, and Republic Digital.

Alice Zhang, the company's new chief investment officer, said Solana's high-speed, low-cost infrastructure makes it a prime platform for global market adoption. Paul K. Danner, executive chairman, said Sharps' advisory team and partnerships with major asset managers position the company to become a leading Solana-focused treasury.

James Zhang, co-founder of Jambo and a prominent figure in the Solana ecosystem, will serve as strategic adviser. He called Solana "the next evolution in global finance" and highlighted its leadership in staking yields, chain revenue, and transaction volume.

Sharps plans to use the proceeds to purchase SOL, build treasury operations, and fund corporate needs. The company signed a letter of intent with the Solana Foundation, which agreed to sell $50 million worth of Solana at a discount tied to the conditions of the offering.

Solana continues to expand rapidly, with more than 7,500 new developers in 2024, $1.3 billion in app revenue in the first half of 2025, and $6 billion in daily trading volume. The network now ranks as one of the most liquid digital assets globally.

Tharimmune secures key global patents for TH-104

Tharimmune (THAR) announced a significant expansion of its intellectual property portfolio for TH-104, its novel transmucosal film. The new patents, recently granted and allowed across key global markets, will enable the Company’s long-term strategy of pursuing broader indications for the technology, beginning with its lead program as a critical medical countermeasure for military and first responders against high-potency opioids. This announcement follows recent positive feedback from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regarding the New Drug Application pathway for TH-104. The FDA confirmed that a 505(b)(2) NDA submission for the prevention of respiratory and/or central nervous system distress is a viable path, and no additional clinical trials seem to be required for this specific indication for use in military personnel and/or first responders who may be exposed to weaponized high-potency opioids, such as fentanyl or its analogues. This positive feedback, combined with the appointment of counter-terrorism expert James Liddy to the Board of Directors, accelerates the Company’s efforts to position TH-104 as a national security solution. The recent granting and allowance of patents in Japan, Mexico, Australia, and the United States further strengthen the Company’s intellectual property position, providing protection for TH-104 out to at least 2040 in key markets. While the initial focus is on military and first responders, these patents are foundational for addressing other significant medical needs to combat pruritus, a debilitating form of itch associated with certain chronic liver and kidney diseases. TH-104 is a buccal film formulation of nalmefene, an opioid antagonist with a significantly longer half-life compared to existing options of autoinjectors and other formulations containing the active ingredient of products such as Narcan. This extended duration may provide sustained protection, which is crucial for personnel operating in high-risk environments where repeated dosing may not be feasible

Orsted cash plan at risk as Trump government blocks US wind project

Wind farm developer Orsted's plan to raise much-needed capital is at risk following a U.S. order to halt construction of a near-complete project, and the Danish group's share price could come under pressure on Monday, analysts said.

The Trump administration's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) published its stop-work order late on Friday, forcing the suspension of a project that was 80% complete with all offshore foundations in place and 45 out of 65 wind turbines installed.

The timing of the halt to Revolution Wind off Rhode Island is particularly damaging for Orsted, which announced earlier this month a plan to raise 60 billion Danish crowns ($9.42 billion) through a rights issue.

"This is a huge hurdle with regards to raising capital," Sydbank analyst Jacob Pedersen told Reuters. "I've experienced a lot in my more than 20 years as a stock analyst, but this tops it all, I'm stunned," he added.

AlphaValue analyst Pierre-Alexandre Ramondenc said the U.S. move could jeopardise the success of the rights issue, which he described as "already highly dilutive."

"The news came as a major shock and amounts to nothing less than political hostage-taking by the U.S. administration, given the project's advanced stage," Ramondenc said.

On his first day in office in January, President Donald Trump suspended new offshore wind leasing pending environmental and economic review of projects. He has repeatedly criticised wind energy as ugly, unreliable and expensive.

Orsted's share price, already down 30% since announcing its plan on August 11, now faces further downside risk, the analysts said.

Orsted has said it will update investors on the impact of the BOEM order but has not said when and has declined to comment further.

The company is 50.1% owned by the Danish state, and Denmark's Finance Minister Nicolai Wammen said he was "naturally following the case closely".
