GE Sees Potential For More China Deals After Trump-Xi Meeting

GE Aerospace remains optimistic that it can secure more aircraft-engine orders from China after President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping met in Beijing last month and manufacturing partner Boeing Co. came home an initial batch of commitments.

A Chinese proposal to purchase 200 Boeing jets was an important first step toward reopening sales in the country, GE Chief Executive Officer Larry Culp said in a Bloomberg TV interview on Sunday.

Netanyahu: 350 militants killed in one week

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israeli forces have killed 350 militants in the past week, as the military continues operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.

Opening the weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said troops were "striking very forcefully" in Lebanon and claimed Hezbollah was "in retreat," while warning Israel would respond to any attacks.

He said operations near the border aim to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure in villages along southern Lebanon, following reported rocket fire toward northern Israel and continued clashes in the area.

Trump: US to destroy Iran's uranium either way

United States President Donald Trump underscored on Sunday that the US will destroy stockpiles of enriched uranium with or without Iran.

"If we make a deal that now we're friendly, we'll all go together. It'll be our equipment. We'll take it out and destroy it, whether it's on-site or whether we take it off-site," Trump told NBC in an interview.

"And we will go with them, or without them [the Iranians]. But we won't have people shooting at us, OK?" Trump said. He warned that if no deal is reached, the US is going to take Iran out "militarily very harshly."

Trump: US forces to stay until final deal with Iran

US President Donald Trump explained in an interview with NBC published on Sunday that the American military will not leave the Gulf region until a final peace deal with Iran is reached.

"It costs us very little to keep them there," Trump stressed, calling withdrawal "foolhardy to do" as forces may be used as leverage in negotiations. "Look, we have totally destroyed their military, Trump said, adding that Tehran has only "some" missiles and drones left, just about "21%, 22%" of its prewar missile stockpile remaining.

The US leader also reiterated that he would not unfreeze Iranian assets or lift any sanctions before a peace deal is reached.

Knicks enforcing no-bag policy, ‘TSA-style’ security at Finals Game 3 with Trump’s expected attendance

The Knicks are keeping security tight for their first NBA Finals home game in 27 years.

The team announced Saturday a slew of rules they will enforce Monday night at the Garden, including a “strict no-bag policy,” along with “TSA-style” security measures ahead of NBA Finals Game 3.

The Knicks suggest fans show up at least two hours before the 8:30 p.m. tip-off to ensure they are at their seats on time for the start of the first quarter.

“A strict no-bag policy will be in effect, and fans should make every effort to limit personal items to an absolute minimum,” the team wrote. “Fans should expect enhanced security measures when entering Madison Square Garden, including TSA-style screening procedures. Guests are strongly encouraged to arrive at least two hours before tip-off to allow additional time for screening and entry.”

There is also a recommendation for fans to look at the Secret Service website for a list of prohibited items.

The Garden typically allows bags that fit under one’s seat but do not exceed 22 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches, per the arena’s website.

The game, already historic enough for a sporting event, is also expected to see President Donald Trump among the attendees.

After The Post first reported earlier this week that Trump was going to come to the World’s Most Famous Arena, the commander in chief confirmed the news.

It’s the first time a sitting president will attend an NBA Finals game.

“[The Knicks] find a way to do it,” Trump told reporters Thursday. “They’re really great, a great team. I’m happy for [Knicks owner] Jim [Dolan] because Jim has really been fighting hard to produce such a team.”

NBA commissioner Adam Silver said that he’s excited for Trump’s attendance and spoke to the president’s bona fides as a Knicks fan well before he took office.

“We’re seeing that in New York, and I think President Trump is very much a New Yorker, and I’m thrilled that yet another New Yorker wants to participate in the enthusiasm and the joy around this Knick team,” Silver said this week.

The Knicks, after thrilling wins in Games 1 and 2, hold a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Spurs as they look to clinch their first NBA championship since 1973 on home court.
