In what looks like a turning point, huge explosions are going up across Mexico -- in or near Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Acapulco, Cancun, Cuernavaca, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Guanajuato, Irapuato and countless others; all the beautiful cities where the cartels have a foothold and tourism is big. The live map is here.
I’ve just been informed that Mexican security forces have killed “El Mencho,” one of the bloodiest and most ruthless drug kingpins. This is a great development for Mexico, the US, Latin America, and the world. The good guys are stronger than the bad guys./Los buenos somos más que…

Grok translation of the second paragraph:
Jalisco is a hellhole and the whole country too. And the president? And Morena? Oh right, I remember now—they protect narcos.
Lo de Puerto Vallarta es aterrador.

México en guerra. pic.twitter.com/VhUioNQ0il
Cartels are trying to burn the country down in response, which tells you what kind of people they are.
Tourists are being told to 'shelter in place:
Hotel guests are watching a complete warzone unfold in Puerto Vallarta.

Mexico's ex-president, Andres Manuel Lopez-Obrador has reportedly fled his estate, based on his involvement with cartels. President Claudia Sheinbaum, who is reportedly scared out of her wits, is pretending nothing odd is happening:

Remember: The Mexican President said she didn't want to use force against the cartels because it would violate their human rights.

Here's what likely did happen:
Mexico has always know where El Mencho, the leader of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), was staying but they resisted going after him because Mexican officials are corrupt and he was heavily guarded

Pressure from Trump is why Mexico finally acted pic.twitter.com/KjGqC3AAVX

The two most lucrative criminal schemes that the CJNG engages in are actually not drug trafficking

It's timeshare fraud and fuel theft, among others

And my source in Mexico right now tells me there are shouts of 'Viva Trump' across Mexico in ferocious approval of President Trump's pressure on this cowardly Mexican government to force them to take action against these ruthless, brutal, criminals, rubbing them out.
Mexicans are huddling in their beautiful churches and cathedrals for protection and grace, praying for their country, and praying for President Trump's continued good health.
That portends a major turnaround for Mexico if the operations are resolute and effective, and Mexico asks for help from the U.S. if they need it. This may be the twilight of the cartels and if it is, Mexico will win.
